St Alkmund's Schools of Ministry...

Welcome to St Alkmund's Schools of Ministry

Our vision is to gather, grow and go; to prepare people for works of service and to release them in the gifting God has for them. We offer a wide range of short term schools, suitable for individuals, teams or groups who have a desire to grow in their faith and become more effective in their calling. Our schools are run by John White with a range of guest speakers. Gill Bridges is SASM Administrator. SASM is open to all who believe and trust in Jesus Christ, and have a desire to "grow".

"It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."
Ephesians 4: 11-13

Introducing John white...

John has been the vicar of St Alkmund's for ten years. He is the New Wine Regional Network leader for the East Midlands, and on the leadership team for New Wine North. He has taken up opportunities for speaking and teaching on the prophetic ministry and on leadership training both in the UK and abroad. John is married to Vicky and they have three children, Ben, Tom and Abi. John's interests include reading, motor racing, wine and music.

When is it?

Courses only run during "seasons": focused times with periods of rest in-between (other than Foundations). Courses range from week-day evenings to weekends and week days. SASM has an annual core of courses, with other courses being added as God directs.

Who is it for?

Schools are open to anyone with a desire to grow in their faith and become more effective in their calling. Some schools may have limited places due to their content and style. Come as an individual, as a team, as a group ... whatever suits you! We do encourage you to gain the support of your small group leader if you are from within St Alkmund's, and your church leader if you are from another church.

How can I get started?

Details and booking forms for individual courses are available a term in advance and can be obtained from Mrs Gill Bridges, SASM Administrator, gill@stalkmunds.org.uk at the church office, who will send you more detailed information. You can also download the application forms from this web site to print out and send to St Alkmunds. Application forms are with course details via the SASM Diary links on the left.

How much does it cost?

Normally a small charge will be made for each course to cover administration costs. Sometimes courses are free.
