Secondary Schools |  |
In Derby there are tens of thousands of young people in primary and secondary school, the vast majority of whom do not know Jesus. Our primary witness as a Church to these schools comes through teachers and our young people and children themselves, spread across the city`s schools and colleges. Please pray for them!
Alongside this we have a large number of congregation members who are active in Derby schools. Here is an example of how this happens:
Woodlands School and Landau Forte College: St Alkmund`s traditionally has very strong links with these two "secondary schools" in the local area. Currently we are involved in regular Assemblies in Landau; and in running lessons and a lunch club for mainly non-Christians in Woodlands. In both of these schools we work in partnership with Woodlands Evangelical Church.
Prayer: Various congregation members are also involved in prayer groups and prayer meetings for our local schools. To find out more information about this or any other aspect of schools work please contact Simon Wood.
