Links is the group that looks to encourage and develop links between St Alkmund`s and those on the mission field. We support people working in this country and abroad, involved in both long and short term mission. We seek to support in prayer as well as practically and financially, whilst also keeping the congregation informed of those we support.
St Alkmunds has close ties with the Amani project in Kenya and has supported the project at home and abroad, including putting together short term teams to help their work.
"Our aim is to help the Kenyan people find a Kenyan solution to their problems, which is sustainable and capable of continuous development. A sad statistic from the World Bank is that only one out of six projects they fund in Africa continues after funding ceases. We believe the process we are following will ensure that groups continue to flourish and offer hope to their members after direct support for the group stops. Indeed, we believe that mature groups will assist in the development of new groups in the future."

AMANI UK supports the work of Amani Kenya which enables poor people in the Nyanza Province of Western Kenya to become self sustaining through agriculture, together with nursery school development and assistance for AIDS/HIV patients with a Home Based Care programme
