As part of the youth work at St Alkmund’s we seek to get our young people involved with the wider church and the local community. Here are some of the ways in which this happens:
Fuel
Fuel is an inter-church youth meeting supported by St Alkmund`s. It`s a chance for the Christian youth of the city to meet up in order to be encouraged to reach out. We have so far run two social action focused mission in Allenton called "Fuel in Action" and a joint city centre outreach in January 2005.
Bridgebuilders
The youth have also been heavily involved in the Bridgebuilders project, praying for our local community, gardening and helping to run kids clubs.
Around Church...
You will also see people in the youth, behind the sound desk, in the worship group, running lighthouse groups, leading youth small groups, involved in prayer ministry, organising church events and doing a whole lot more. Our work here with young people is underpinned by our belief that we are all most satisfied when loving God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and loving our neighbours as ourselves.
