Introduction from Rev. John White - Vicar

We are very pleased to welcome you to St Alkmund's. We hope that this web site will help you to capture the passion behind the ministries we feel God has called us to, tell you more about us and if you come and join us, help you to feel quickly 'at home' at St Alkmund's.

Who are we?

St Alkmund's is a community of Christian believers whose focus is on worshipping God and on sharing the gospel with those who do not know Jesus. Our focus is up to God, out to the world, and around to each other, which our 'logo' illustrates. You may also hear us refer to 'worshipping, missionary, communities' which we aim to be both as a corporate church, and also within each of our ministries and small groups.

We are a charismatic, evangelical, Anglican church and, although we are a parish church, many of our congregation live right across the City, and even beyond its boundaries. We want to be a resource for churches around us, as well as being involved in serving the local community and beyond - we hope you will discover this as you browse this web site.

We are part of Derby City Vision, 'one church proclaiming and demonstrating the kingdom of God throughout Derby'; a member of the Evangelical Alliance; and a New Wine church.

Who am I?

I am John White, Vicar here at St Alkmund's. I am married to Vicky, and we have three children Ben, Tom and Abigail. In addition to my family, my passions include motor racing, books and the Lake District.
